Vad är Flex Fuel?
Flexibelt bränsle eller flexbränsle ses som ett lämpligt alternativ till bränsle, som framställs genom att tillsätta bensin, etanol eller metanol till blandningen. Flexibla bränslefordon är fordon som har motorer som är konstruerade för att drivas på mer än en sorts bränsle. Dessa motorer kallas också ofta för förbränningsmotorer. Förutom några variationer av bränslesystemet och motorn, ser och fungerar flexibla bränslefordon ganska likt och identiskt med sina bensin-bara motsvarigheter. Flexbränsle utvecklades först på 1990-talet och användes i 1994 års Ford Taurus. År 2017 fanns det rapporterade 21 miljoner flexbränslebilar på motorvägarna och vägarna.
Vad är ett Flex Fuel Vehicle?
Ett Flex Fuel Vehicle är ett fordon med en specifik och intrikat design som kan använda E85-bränsle. Flexbränslefordon är ganska lika konventionella bensinfordon - med undantag för några ändrade delar. FFV-fordon kan också köras på vanlig bensin, vilket ger fordonsägarna en möjlighet till flexibilitet när det gäller att tanka sin bil. Ett exempel på en FFV är Ford F-150. Den levereras med tillvalet Flex Fuel-drivlinor samt alternativet för en 5,0-liters eller 3,3-liters motor. Är Flex Fuel bra eller dåligt?

Brist på Flex-bränslestationer
Eftersom flexbränsle inte är lika kostnadseffektivt som bensin, kanske många bensinstationer inte erbjuder det. Från och med nu är det bara en liten andel av bensinstationer i landet som har flexbränsle. Men med nya lagar och nya rekommendationer i horisonten kommer detta sannolikt att förändras under de kommande decennierna. En fördel med ett modernt flexbränslefordon är att ägarna kan använda vilken blandning som helst av etanol och bensin - oavsett om den bensinkombinationen är 100 procent blyfri gas eller 75-90 procent etanol. Gas körsträcka
En annan nackdel med att äga en flex-fuel-bil är bensinkörningen. Medan vissa bilexperter förkunnar att flexbränslebilar har liknande körsträcka som deras vanliga bränsledrivna motsvarigheter, hävdar andra experter att flexbränslefordon har mycket mindre bensinkörning. Grödor kan inte distribueras till andra källor
Hur underbart det än är att köra en bil som går på rörsocker och majs, så kan skördarna inte allokeras till andra källor. Det betyder att även om flexbränsle är hållbart producerat, kan grödorna inte föras vidare som tillgångar i andra produktionsinsatser. På grund av detta kan det bli en topp i priserna på djurfoder. Hur skiljer sig Flex-Fuel-fordon från standardfordon?
Flex-fuel-fordon är ganska lika i utseende som konventionella fordon. Ofta är den enda skillnaden med ett flexbränslefordon att det körs på antingen vanlig gas eller etanol som är E85 – en blandning av 85 procent etanol och 15 procent bensin. Rapporter tyder på att biltillverkare började tillverka flexbränslefordon redan 1988, efter att lagstiftarna antagit lagen om alternativa motorbränslen. Lagen erbjuder krediter för produktion av fordon som drivs med alternativa bränslen.
Kan man hitta etanol i bensin nu?
Etanol är ett bränsle som redan finns bensin – i en kombination av 90 procent bensin och 10 procent etanol som kallas E10. 2012 godkände Naturvårdsverket användningen av E15. Vissa biltillverkare och andra fordonstillverkare uttryckte problem med E10 på grund av dess högre etanolhalt.
Hur vet jag om mitt fordon är Flex-Fuel-kompatibelt?

En Skylt Eller En Symbol På Din Bil

Vad var det första flexbränslefordonet som någonsin tillverkats?
Om du vill bli riktigt specifik så var det "första flexbränslefordonet" Model T redan 1908, tillverkad av bilpionjären Henry Ford! Fordonet hade en förgasare som var justerbar. Bilen kan också köras på etanol, bensin eller till och med båda.
Nu, snabbspola fram till idag, var den första FFV:n Ford Taurus-tillverkad på 1990-talet. Taurus kunde köras på E85-bränsle eller vanlig gas, utan problem.
Kan du använda flexbränsle i ett vanligt bensinfordon?
Det är inte en fråga om detta är möjligt eller inte. Det rekommenderas inte att du använder flexbränsle i fordon som inte är utrustade och/eller konstruerade för att driva E85-bränsle. Om du gör misstaget att lägga E85-bränsle i din vanliga bensinbil, kontakta en mekaniker ASAP. The short answer is no. E85 has been tested and certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in FFVs, which means that it is approved for safe use in these vehicles. In fact, many experts believe that using E85 can actually provide better performance than regular gasoline in certain models of FFVs.
