Dénia is a historical coastal city in the province of Alicante, Spain, on the Costa Blanca halfway between Alicante and Valencia, and the capital and judicial seat of the comarca of Marina Alta. Denia's historical heritage has been influenced by Iberian, Greek, Roman, Islamic, Napoleonic and Christian civilizations. As of 2022, it had a population of 43,819, although this is more than doubled.

Wool Bay Jetty. Wool Bay Golf Course. Formerly known as 'Pickering', the town was founded in 1876 and was a wool, grain and lime exporting town. It took its current name in 1940 and the remains of the uniquely designed lime kilns, can be seen on the cliff top.

Stansbury, SA Aussie Towns

Wool Bay. SA Memory. Wool Bay is situated on the Yorke Peninsula coast between Stansbury and Coobowie. The town was established in 1876 with the name Pickering but by 1940 the name had been changed to Wool Bay. In 1882 a jetty was built to take advantage of the safe anchorage with deep water close inshore.

Wool Bay Jetty is another wonderful diving site located approximately 2.5 hours away from Adelaide, on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. Wool Bay offers relatively shallow diving amongst sea-grass meadows and intertidal rocky reef, with an average depth of 3 m / 9 ft.

Just 224 kilometres from Adelaide, Wool Bay is the perfect place to leave behind a fast-paced life, lie back, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet with its sandy beaches, great fishing and moderate year-round weather. Things to do: Visit Barachel Alpacas where you can watch the alpacas graze, or visit the on-farm shop for alpaca wool products.

Yesterday I fulfilled a dream of seeing and filming a Leafy Seadragon. These creatures are unique to South Australia and this particular one was found at Woo.

215km from Adelaide It's almost three hours by road from Adelaide to Wool Bay, but it's worth the trip. Here you'll find one of the best squidding jetties in South Australia. A casual stroll along the jetty will reveal wall-to-wall squid ink, indicating just how many of the delectable cephalopods are caught here annually.

Just south of Wool Bay is Port Giles with its huge grain silos and jetty reaching out into deeper water. Port Giles is just a grain port with no town or houses. This part of the peninsula is an excellent grain growing area and this port is one of the main shipping ports for grain - mostly wheat.
