Algonquin Park is Ontario and Canada's oldest provincial park established in 1893. It is home to 40% of old of old growth forests in the Great Lakes St-Lawrence region. Algonquin Park is home to some of the oldest Hemlocks ( Tsuga canadensis) in the world aging up to 500 years old.
