In late 1982 the Ferrari 308 would evolve yet again into the 308 GTS Quattrovalvole (QV). A GTB Quattrovalvole (berlinetta) was also introduced. The main change from the 308 GTSi it succeeded were the four valves per cylinder—hence its name, quattrovalvole, literally "four valves" in Italian—which pushed output back up to 240 hp (179 kW) restoring some of the performance lost to emissions.

The 308 GTB made its debut at the Paris and London shows in 1975. Built to a Pininfarina design by Scaglietti, it retained the 308 GT4′s V8, albeit with dry sump lubrication.
