December 12, 2021 · Follow This week in 1957, THE DIAMONDS released the single THE STROLL (Dec 1957) NOTE: The video here is taken from two American Bandstand episodes, from 1957 and 1967. The video was in very poor condition but I've managed to sharpen it slightly and inject a little colour.

The Stroll was both a slow rock 'n' roll dance and a song that was popular in late 1950s. Billboard first reported that "The Stroll" may herald a new dance craze similar to the "Big Apple" in December 1957. "The Stroll" was written by Clyde Otis and Nancy Lee and was recorded by the Canadian group The Diamonds (Mercury 71242).
