With this 1980 Yamaha XS1100, Licari sought to build a one-of-a-kind motorcycle that captured the spirit of a cafe racer, achieving a balance of form, function, performance, and reliability.. This is my recently finished, fully restored Yamaha XS1100 custom cafe racer named "il Corvino", Italian for the Raven. Licari Co. is my last name.

With a factory-rated output of 95 ponies coming from its 1,101cc inline-four powerhouse and a top speed of 134 mph (215 kph), the XS1100 served as a highly capable donor for the cafe racer.

The Yamaha XS Eleven motorcycle, also called XS11 and XS1100, is a the largest, most powerful Japanese motorcycle produced from 1978 to 1981, powered by an air-cooled 1,101 cc (67.2 cu in) 4-stroke, DOHC inline four-cylinder engine mounted transversely in a duplex cradle frame with swingarm rear suspension, 95-hp shaft drive, and telescopic forks.

This cafe racer is a Yamaha XS1100 1979 better known as "eleven". To be honest I'm not really a fan of these big Japanese 4-cylinder engines.. Geoff launched Return of the Cafe Racers in 2006 as a place to document his very first cafe racer build. He has also worked as the editor of the independent custom motorcycle magazine Tank Moto.
